TOP DATE SPOTS IN CANTERBURY

Right now we're all hitting up Zoom and socially distanced park walks but here are some ideas for after lockdown. Canterbury is a fantastic date spot whether you're local to the area or visiting.

BRUNCH

You cannot go wrong with starting your day with brunch at the Refectory. This cosy location is just a hop, skip and a jump from West Gate train station. They have lots of choices from traditional full English to classic pancakes with maple syrup, with beautiful healthy twists such as their own homemade baked beans.

COFFEE

Fond Coffee are the new kids on the block that everyone is talking about. Whether you are walking past to grab a coffee or you want to sit in for a light bite, you are guaranteed to love their coffee. Great news — we serve Fond Coffee from our very own Mooring cafe.

WALKS

Westgate Gardens has tree species from all over the world and a beautiful view of the water. Another fantastic walk is Dane John with its remaining city walls and an ancient burial mound — you can walk along the ancient walls and get a great view of the Cathedral.

DINNER

If you are really hoping to impress then check out the Old Weavers. This restaurant sits by the river edge for stunning outside dining or sitting inside to soak in the atmosphere of the rustic converted barn, with an Asian and Mediterranean themed menu.

PUNTING

Nothing is more relaxing than kicking back in a boat whilst someone else pushes you along. The scenery is breath-taking and will be sure to earn you brownie points. Choose a shared tour or spoil your loved one with a private hire. Do not forget to grab a bottle of bubbly from the bar!
